ABOUT LEARNING HISTORIES

MISSION AND VISION

Learninghistories.nl supports organizations with developing a history-based view of the future. Coping with challenges requires a shared story in the organization:

  • where do we come from?

  • where are we now? 

  • where do we want to go?

 

The learning history method enables organizations to answer these questions by bundling stories from the inside and outside into a collaborative learning process.

 

As Associate Professor at the University of Groningen  I have supervised more than 70 learning histories for dozens of (non)profit organizations such as schools, municipalities, water boards, provinces, ministries, political parties, UWV, Philips and many others, in the past 20 years.  In addition, as an independent consultant addition, I have gained a lot of experience with applications in change management, strategy development, innovative projects, knowledge management, quality management, and conflict management.

THE METHOD

 

In the past 20 years I have further developed the learning history method into an efficient,

goal-oriented form of co-design. This starts with an 'intake' in which we coordinate the objectives and questions. After this archival research in prepares a series of semi-structured interviews. After the research, the learning process will be started by a learning history which can take many forms from micro-articles to videos. Smart application of historical methods guarantee the efficiency learning histories. Significant breakthroughs can be realized by a relatively concise research.
